Meet the Therapist
Early in her career, while studying veterinary medicine at Colorado State University, Aslaug”Oz”Mandel DVM developed special interests in pain management and patient recovery post injury. She has pursued these interests over the last 10 years by becoming certified in Veterinary Acupuncture in 2010, then certified as a Canine Rehabilitation Therapist in 2012, and lastly she became certified in Equine Rehabilitation in 2015.
Roaring Fork Animal Rehabilitation & Fitness was founded in 2012 with the goal of helping injured animals recover and move more normally. Dr. Mandel has continued to rehabilitate hunting and sporting dogs, geriatric pets, animals with neurological conditions, plus dogs and cats hit by cars, as well as post-operative patients recovering from surgery.
Fitness is often lost when an animal is injured therefore Dr Mandel prescribes individualized exercises to build strength, endurance, and motor control for patients of all fitness levels.
We accept referrals from small and large animal veterinarians in the Roaring Fork Valley as well as Western Colorado. Services include Acupuncture, Fitness, Hydrotherapy, Light Amplification by Simulated Emission of Radiation (LASER), Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation, Pulsed ElectroMagnetic Field Therapy, Rehabilitation, and Therapeutic Ultrasound.
